After some travel difficulties, Dan Brooks and Andy Anglea made it to Brooke’s Point Bible Church and met with Pastor Jethro Malacao for CampsAbroad’s third visit to their camp in the Philippines.
After a few building years, it was wonderful to see many previous campers now serving as counselors! This year’s camp had 28 counselors and 160 campers. Once the campers arrived, the group traveled by motorcade from the church to the camp location about an hour away. The camp took place in the Pineapple Capital of Palawan. Much pineapple was served and consumed throughout the week.
This week of camp had many fun activities. The teens played games on the beach, hiked, and enjoyed time spent at a waterfall! Plenty of time with their counselors opened opportunities for fruitful discussions about spiritual things.
Sad stories of difficult home situations brought into focus the difficult realities that many of these young people face. The hope of the Gospel was shared with many believers and unbelievers alike. Many responded to the Gospel throughout the week, and many who are already believers responded to the convicting work of the Holy Spirit and were given hope that they could change – with God’s help!
We are grateful for Brooks Point Bible Church and look forward to what God will do through this camp in the future.
