Dominican Republic

We experienced a quick yet profitable trip to the Dominican Republic. In July, I did a survey trip to the Dominican Republic which is continuing to produce promising results. After our initial contact, it looks very promising that we may have a camp next July. On the way to the airport after our visit this past summer, we made a second possible contact.  This group has a very established camp system in multiple countries, so I was intrigued to see if CampsAbroad could be a help, and they were, too.
This second trip had Tim, Rachel, and me meet with their leadership and present an overview of our training material. On Monday we presented our philosophy and about 3 counseling sessions. We had five hours of training with great discussions during lunch and all evening. Their camp director is very excited for us to return and to teach more of the training material.
Thank you for your continued prayers as we continue to navigate ministry through COVID. The Camp ministry we just helped is very concerned as their government is mandating COVID vaccines to attend sporting events since, according to the government, they fall under that category. Most of the youth they help are from very poor areas and would not have the vaccine or be prone to keep track of a vaccine record. We are so thankful to serve a God who is not surprised by anything and is more powerful than anything!
